Upgrading QRecall

QRecall will normally check for new versions and automatically upgrade itself. See general preferences to set the frequency.

Upgrading QRecall Steps

The simplest way to upgrade QRecall is to let it upgrade itself:

Choose the QRecall ➤ Check for updates… command or select an automatic Check for updates preference.
If there's an update available, QRecall will download and install it.

Upgrading from a disk image Steps

To upgrade an installed copy of QRecall from a downloadable disk image of QRecall:

Download and open the QRecall installation disk image.
Launch the Install QRecall application.

The Install QRecall application will take the correct steps necessary to smoothly replace your installed copy of QRecall with the one on the disk image.

Manually upgrading QRecall Steps

To manually upgrade an installed copy of QRecall:

Quit the installed QRecall application.
Move the installed QRecall application to the trash, but do not empty it.
Open the installation disk image and copy the new QRecall application to your Applications folder (or wherever the old one was installed).
Launch the new QRecall and reauthorize it (if requested).
It is now safe to empty the trash.

Downgrading QRecall Note

If you want to downgrade QRecall, you must first uninstall it. QRecall will automatically upgrade components, but it won't (as a rule) overwrite a newer component with an older one.

Uninstall the newer version
Install and launch the older version

Warning: actions and archives written with a newer version of QRecall may not be compatible with earlier versions. Refer to the release notes for archive compatibility.
